Normally, I use company cabs for traveling to and from my home. Last Wednesday night, I missed my usual cab due to rush. Somehow, I got into another cab, along with two of my friends. The cab was half-empty, to the fact that just a couple of ladies were inside it, other than us. We started late, by around 8. The driver came in and started the cab. On the way, we actually got stuck in a traffic block at the junction. The driver was so upset, shaking his head, murmuring something to himself, he looked to be in a great tension. We were restless actually, as we had an appointment with our old friend that night. The driver looked even more restless. Then, suddenly a ring broke the silence in the cab. It was the driver’s mobile which sang. He seemed to be talking in great anger and frustration, but we didn’t know why. Slowly the block was eased and we started to move again. Still, his phone was singing there without a break. Finally, we reached our destination point. Before getting down the cab, I asked him, ”Anna, You look very upset. What happened?”
He started. He lives in the city itself, and that was his final trip for the day. He has a son, an only son, studying in a school at the outskirts of the city. That day, this boy was coming from the school, happily, playing with his buddies, singing and dancing…. Then, it happened all suddenly. A car, which was parked at the road side, started quickly, and went over the boy. He fell down on the road, bleeding, and pleading for life. This happened by around 5pm, and the road was full of passengers- 2 wheels and 4 wheels, roaming around here and there. But not even one person showed the mercy of stopping there for a moment and carrying the dying boy to the hospital. At last, some man, an old man of around 80 it seems, took the boy to a nearby hospital. GOD! There are at least a handful of ‘HUMAN’ souls in this huge world! He admitted the boy there and went off. The hospital authorities informed his mother and she went there, crying and nodding helplessly, but only to hear that her little chap left her… forever…
At this point, I couldn’t prevent myself from interfering. I asked,”Anna, You are talking about your own son??” He nodded his head, quietly with a deadly smile on his face, saying without words… “My kid is waiting at the mortuary for your money..!!”

If only...
What is Love? I know that you might come up with numerous of answers. I want you to just go through this story, and think of it. Well, is this a love, or a crush, or an infatuation or whatever, is left to you to decide. But one thing is for certain, this story is true. And one more thing, I can’t write the actual climax here. So you are free to imagine whatever you want, from the clue.
It’s about a boy studying in 4th standard in a prestigious school of a small town. He was very studious and silent. He was the teachers’ pet as he always did the home works in time, and things like that… one day, he was coming to school, and suddenly… well I have no words to explain that feeling.. he saw a girl, a little cute girl. Then, after that moment, he lost himself. He finished the day’s class somehow, and went back home, happily. At home, he told his mom about the incident, and asked,”Amma, why I am feeling different after seeing her?” She replied, “My son, this is the sign that you are growing up. This always happens to boys. I’ll come with you to school tomorrow. Show me that girl, and I will take care of the rest.”
So the next day, he showed the girl to her. That evening, her told him,”hey, that girl is your teacher’s daughter, and moreover they are our family friends. So don’t worry, I’ll introduce you to her!” Thus, the intro was over. Time went by. They both became good friends. Finally, the time for final exams came. They both studied together, written the exams and passed.
Then happened the separation. That school was predominantly boy’s school, and daughters of teachers only were allowed there, that too till 4th class. So, they have no other choice than to separate. So there they went, after a year of intense friendship, to the darkness of the unknown mist…Years went by… the little boy grew up to be an engineering student. He had forgotten the girl by that time. Then, one day, in the marriage function of a relative, he saw a girl, a gorgeous one... (Oh! Now I can hear you shouting,” Stop this non sense! We have seen so many such situations in movies and stories. “Well friends, I agree to this. But, I couldn’t help it. I have to write this to take the story forward. So please bear with me). So as you would have guessed, he was almost swept away by that girl, without knowing that she was his old friend. He told his mom who was near to him,”Amma, I feel that girl is attracting me. What should I do now?” She replied,”You needn’t do anything. I will do”. She went to the girl, and chatted with her for some time, came back and told,”Hey, that is your old teacher’s daughter who was your friend long back. Don’t you recognize her?” Ok! Now he understood why that girl disturbed him so much in the first sight. Alright, now you know what would have happened and all. But sorry, the fact is that he was so hesitating to talk to her that he didn’t even went near her. However, after that day, she came always in his dreams, but he was trying to avoid the thoughts about her, don’t know why, perhaps because of the fear that she might not recognize her. One day, he saw that girl coming to his house with her mother, his old teacher. Quickly, he went inside, called his mom and told that the girl is coming, and escaped into the bathroom. (Well, I don’t know how you take this. But folks, this is true, so I can’t add colors to it to make it more attractive!) They both came inside the house. He heard his mom calling him to the guest room, but he kept calm. After sometime, he heard them saying,”Ok, We will take leave now. Tell your son also.” “OMG! Escaped this time” he came out of his ‘hide-out’ and asked mom why they came. She said, “It seems that girl is engaged to someone already. They came to invite us to the marriage” Heart-breaking for the young one! But...”Yeah! I have to take it. At least it was good that I didn’t propose her before, as it seems she has totally forgotten me.” was the immediate reaction of the guy.
Then, her mother gave an envelope to him. “This, she asked me to give it to you. They really wanted to talk to you, but couldn’t wait long. So, I think they have given you a separate invitation for the reception before the function. I do know what your feelings right now are. But make sure you don’t burst out in front of others. (And many hilarious words to console him...!) So now, take this, and attend the function happily.” He smiled, and opened the envelope. It had only two words written on it. It was...

Yercaud - A place to visit..!!
Hey friends,
So, coming out of all those, this time, it’s about a trip which I made recently. It was with almost half my team that we started to Yercaud, a hill station near Salem.
We started by around 5AM from Coimbatore, in a cold, but energetic morning on July 4. After picking up the entire team, we left the out skirts of the city by around 6.30. Then started the bang of music, heads over to the core. Actually, it started mildly, with some devotional number, and like a storm gaining strength on its course, the mood changed gradually. By the time we stopped for refreshments, all of us were sweating like rains in November. After a short break, we restarted the journey, and of course, needless to say, the dance party as well. The journey was quite long, more than 4 hours, but was never boring. We had our breakfast at the hill base by around 9.30AM. Tasty Iddly paired with the traditional Chutney and Sambar were enough to ride boats through our mouths. The Lemon Seva and Halwa added flavors to it. We filled our stomach like anything before starting to climb the 20 hair pin curves to the hill top. The scenes through the windows were worth a movie shot, as we climbed the hill. What a view man.!! Breathe taking!
Finally, we were there, at the top, by around 11AM. The area was actually not quite attractive initially, as we expected. However, there, we split up into groups and started in different directions,; some for the Deer Park, some for Boating, and yes, some like me, for walking through the nearby shops for some food stuffs.!! On the way, we met few police ladies, who advised us to take the bus right to the top most point, called Shevrayon. We were so excited by this idea, that we called everyone and set to move by 1.30PM. (And yes, in between, we had some time to play the Dump C’s, which paved way for the comedy session). Then started the real hill climbing. It was hardly 6km to the top, and we took around 45 minutes to reach there. OMG! I can’t explain that journey, the best part of our whole trip. The road was literally inclined 45 degrees, and the bus never moved out of its extra gear. Sitting in the front row, just behind the driver’s seat, the road was like.. Oh. I couldn’t find anything comparable to that sight.! Awesome..!
On the top, there were more amazing sights in store for us, the first being a wonderful view point of the entire town. Although some parts being crapped down, the hill was just superb. And what was more amusing that the only police station of the town rested there, at the top! We had our lunch from there, the spicy biriyani and tempting curd rice served our appetite. After lunch, we went to the famous Shevrayon temple, located right there. It’s just a small cave temple, carved inside the rocks of the hills. The funniest fact was that I was a perfect fit to that temple. My body could just fill in the entrance to the whole cave! After spending some time there, we returned to the main town. Again, the journey.. OOPS! Can’t think of it another time. The entire steep slope opening the mouth in from of us, both the sides being covered with forests.. It was really fearsome.
Then again, it was the time for some beautiful sights. The astonishing sights from “Ladies Seat” and the ever smiling flowers in the Rose Gardens provided a perfect close for a memorable journey, not to mention the shooting of an unknown film that we witnessed. Well, after all those mind blowing sights, it was time to return, by around 5.30PM. The return journey was almost silent, as compared to the onward journey, thanks to the tiredness of hill climbing and walking. On the way, we stopped at Salem, for some refreshments. There, something drastic happened, which really changed my perception of life. Few of us went into a small tea stall, had some tea and snacks and all. I came out of the shop a bit earlier than others, owing to a phone call from my friend to buy some cool drinks. I went to the nearby shop. There, there was only a little girl, to whom I asked for the drink. She took that and gave it to me. Then, on the back side of that shop, I saw an old man, probably 80 years old, staring at me. Out of curiosity, I asked the girl who was that. The reply really melted my heart. That man was a teacher in some local school there. After retirement, he has spent all his pension and other funds for his son, who is a doctor now, staying at China. (Oh. I can hear you screaming, “Stop this non sense!. We have seen this already in many films!” Well yes, but when you really see that, you will turn to someone else inside). The old man was left alone, his wife being dead, with only bank loans and other sorts of liabilities. The guy who is running the shop was an old student of his, who adopted (Well, actually, I shouldn’t say, he adopted. Rather, he is using) the old man, and took him to his shop. And here, what is he doing? He would sit on the back side of the shop, and is feeding on the food left overs by the passengers who stops there for refreshments. This has been his routine for around 6-7 months, it seems. The little girl, who was innocent enough to narrate all this to me in no time, went inside, after snatching the money for the drinks from me.
Then, on the return, I left my mind there, with the old man, who spent the whole of his life creating a new, better generation, being treated now, worse than a dog by his own family and students. Perhaps, this is what differentiates humans from animals-The ability to forget our past while building a better future eagerly. However, an unforgettable end of a glorious trip was marked there.
Even now, I am haunted by that very sight of the old man staring at me, as if asking, “Today, it’s my turn. How about tomorrow?”

Because, I Love You..
Now I know why I love you this much..
Not that the chillness of your skin
gives the sense of eternal flee..
Not that the sourness in your lips
gives the taste of bleeding life..
Not that the mystery beneath the robes
puzzles me every time I drown in you..
Never because of your magical wilderness
that leaves me breathless in dreams..
But, my Ocean.. just because you reflect on me..
Because I saw myself in You..
Hiding bundles of pain behind the soothing waves,
You revived my aching heart behind smiling face!
Now I know why I love you this much,
Because mind is the greatest mystery ever, They say
Known are the waves that kisses the shore,
And the rest is mystery, the Darkness in the Deepest..!
Not that the chillness of your skin
gives the sense of eternal flee..
Not that the sourness in your lips
gives the taste of bleeding life..
Not that the mystery beneath the robes
puzzles me every time I drown in you..
Never because of your magical wilderness
